The Lions Eye Institute Board comprises members with proven expertise and abilities in areas ranging from commerce, finance, management and law to medicine and scientific research.
The Board’s role is to drive the strategic direction of the Institute, ensure the necessary funds and resources are available to achieve the organisation’s strategic objectives, provide a high standard of governance, and oversee risk management and mitigation. The Chair of the Board is Mr Peter Forbes, with Deputy Chair Dr Margaret Crowley.
Led by Managing Director Professor Bill Morgan and Chief Executive Officer Dr Glen Power, the Lions Eye Institute’s Executive Team ensures the strategic vision of the Institute is achieved, and the success and sustainability of the organisation is assured.
Professor Ian Constable AO was the founding Managing Director and is now the Patron of the Lions Eye Institute. An internationally renowned ophthalmologist, Professor Constable was the Managing Director of the LEI between 1983 and 2009 and in 2018 celebrated 50 years in ophthalmology.
