Associate Professor Angus Turner

Angus, as Director of Lions Outback Vision, is actively involved in the delivery of specialist outreach services to remote and Indigenous communities in the Kimberley, Pilbara, Goldfields, Great Southern and South West Regions. His vision is that all Australians should be able to access comprehensive eye health care services in an equitable and culturally appropriate manner irrespective of where they live. He leads a team of eye health and administrative professionals, and, through collaboration with local communities, develops innovative and sustainable models of service delivery for remote communities. Angus’s additional focus is on building the capacity of local health care providers and planners.

He is an Associate Professor at UWA, and a researcher and a clinical lecturer for the Rural Clinical School at UWA and Notre Dame. Among his many achievements, Angus was named the 2019 Western Australian in the Professions category.
